Why Value Congruence Matters More Than We Usually Explain
A 2009 study by Jeffrey Edwards and Daniel Cable moves value congruence research beyond the familiar claim that “alignment is good” and asks a more important question: why does value congruence matter? Their answer is especially relevant for Point of Value. The positive effects of value congruence were explained primarily by trust, followed by communication, and, to a lesser extent, interpersonal attraction. The study also found that these effects went beyond psychological ne
